Improving resource efficiency and reducing our environmental impact to ensure a sustainable environment for future generations is important at Canon Canada and reflective of our corporate philosophy of Kyosei and the Canon Americas Environmental Charter.

To support this, last month Canon Canada’s General and Environmental Affairs teams held recycling events at our Calgary, Mississauga and Brampton offices. Employers brought in their unwanted consumer electronics to divert these items from the landfill and recycle them responsibly.

While this year’s event looked different from those in the past, the employees combined efforts yielded excellent results. Across three offices, we diverted over 565 kg of consumer electronics from landfills! Valuable materials – such as gold, copper and aluminum – will be extracted from the electronics and sold globally as a commodity.
