Service Notice: Canon Inkjet Printer continuous reboot loop or powering down

To Users of Canon Inkjet Printers

Thank you for using Canon products.

A problem had recently been identified in some inkjet printers that the printer was turned off immediately after the printer was turned on, but it has been resolved as of June 7, 2022.

Canon takes pride in the quality and performance of its products, and we offer our sincerest apologies to any customers who have been inconvenienced by that phenomenon.
We hope our efforts will earn your understanding.

Phenomenon
The affected printers access the third-party server via the Internet as per the specifications when the printer is turned on.

On and after May 30, the amount of the data returned from the third-party server was increased. Accordingly, the printer could not process the data and then, "it turned off immediately after it turned on." Depending on the models, the printer turned off and back on again repeatedly.

Cause
Exceeding the amount of data that the affected printer can process.

Latest status
On June 7, 2022, the amount of data returned by the third-party server was changed to that the affected printer can process, so the affected printers turn on and operate properly.

Handling of this problem
Although the problem has been resolved since June 7, 2022, the firmware with the rectified control of data processing will be released in preparation for future changes of Internet environment.
It is requested that the firmware of your printer be kept updated to the latest version.
