Canon Canada demonstrates its commitment to sustainability not only through its products’ life cycles but also with its environmental and community initiatives. As a digital imaging company, it’s also dedicated to helping photographers of all ages capture true-to-life images that tell a story.

That’s why Canon Canada proudly supported Earth Rangers and its Living Forests Photo Contest. The kids’ conservation organization launched its Living Forest Initiative by asking photographers ages 12 and under to capture the health, vibrancy and sustainability of Canadian forests. The young shutterbugs competed in three categories: Best Wildlife Photo, Best Forest Landscape and Best Tree Photo. The contest received more than 3,600 entries. Canon Canada donated three EOS Rebel T5 cameras, one for each grand-prize winner.

Canon Canada and Earth Rangers first teamed up two years ago. In 2017, Canon Canada began hosting an annual Environmental Education Day in support of its Clean Earth Campaign. Elementary school students spend the day at the company’s corporate headquarters in Brampton, Ontario, learning about their local environment. Earth Rangers hosts a workshop during which their animal ambassadors educate students about the importance of protecting biodiversity and their habitats.

Congratulations to all of the winners! We look forward to seeing more of their inspiring stories.
