Canon Canada was honoured to open its doors for the Brampton Board of Trade’s 4th Annual Energy and Environment Forum. As host sponsor, the company welcomed members of the Brampton business community to learn from sustainability experts. This was the second year in a row the company hosted the full-day forum.
The annual event invites business leaders committed to sustainability, innovation and environmental responsibility to hear from subject matter experts and gain practical insights on ways to green their businesses.
Attendees enjoyed a full itinerary. One keynote offered a global outlook on sustainability, while another took a local approach, with participants providing insights on the City of Brampton’s Business Climate Partnership Program. Four panel discussions brought forth a wide scope of ideas: the future of power in a green economy; navigating regulation in a shifting political and economical landscape; sustainable solutioning (tools, resources and success stories to support net-zero transitions); and green innovation, specifically emerging cleantech.
A vendor showcase allowed local businesses to highlight their green solutions as well.
Two days earlier, Canon Canada had been named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for the seventh consecutive year. The event was a wonderful opportunity for the company to showcase its head office facilities and its corporate leadership in sustainability to the local business community. A member of the company’s Green Team led tours of the LEED® Gold certified building throughout the day, highlighting the environmentally conscious aspects of both the facility and the company’s operations.
