Each November, Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Graphic Communications Management (GCM) recognizes outstanding student achievement at its annual GCM Awards Night. The School of Graphic Communications is Canada’s only degree-granting program for the printing industries. The four-year program gives students the creative, technical and business expertise necessary to be immediate contributors in the field. The awards night brings together students, their families and friends, industry professionals and faculty members to celebrate the students’ achievements from the previous academic year. Members of the Canon Canada team had the pleasure of attending the event to present two Canon awards for academic achievement.
The Canon PRISMAsync Colour Management Scholarship is awarded to the student who attained the highest grade in Colour Management for Graphic Communications. This year, the award was split among three outstanding students: Celeste Gauthier, Erica Knott-McMillan and Sabir Nazir.
As well, Celeste was this year’s recipient of the Canon Scholarship in Graphic Communications Project Management, awarded to the student who attained the highest grade in Project Management for Graphic Communications.
Canon Canada is a contributor to the Canadian Print Scholarships, a program funded entirely by the graphic communications industry. Students enrolled in approved post-secondary graphics communications programs apply for scholarships through their schools. The scholarships are awarded to incoming first-year students with the highest grades. Students who continue to meet academic requirements can renew their scholarship through their second, third and fourth years. This year, 58 TMU students received a scholarship for their academic excellence.
Canon Canada congratulates all the scholarship recipients on their achievements and wishes them continued success in their studies and eventual professional careers.
Canon Canada is committed to supporting the next generation of content creators, digital imaging professionals and environmental stewards.
