When Canon launched its toner cartridge recycling program in 1990, it became the first company to collect and recycle used copier toner cartridges. Since then, thanks to this free, easy and environmentally responsible way of recycling empty toner cartridges, Canon has collected more than 454,000 tons around the world.
Canon owns and operates five recycling centres for this program. Canon Canada sends its customers’ returned toners to Canon Virginia, which, in 2013, received Responsible Recycling certification for its reliable practices and activities, the first for an original equipment manufacturer.
Canon's closed-loop recycling process ensures everything old is new again. See how a used toner cartridge gets a new lease on life.
