The CPS program is available to full-time and part-time imaging professionals that meet the membership level requirements of equipment ownership and business status. This program offers two levels of membership - Gold and Platinum - to qualifying members, with each level receiving specific benefits. Please review the membership overview chart below for the requirements and benefits offered.

Eligible products for member registration and service. In order to ensure rapid service turnaround, parts availability is assured for the following products. Any products not listed below will not be eligible for service turnaround within our stated turnaround targets. Please contact your CPS representative when in doubt. New products will be added to this list as they are released into the market and older products will be removed as their service life expires.

Equipment requirements: Platinum membership requires at least 2 x 5D or better cameras and 3 x L series lenses from the eligible equipment list above. Gold membership requires 2 x 40D or better cameras and 2 x L series lenses from the eligible equipment list. Video requirements for Platinum and Gold plans are also contained in the list. Members will be required at time of application to list the equipment, along with serial numbers, that they possess and intend to be covered by CPS service policies. Members are responsible for maintaining their record of equipment, adding new gear and removing retired or sold items when necessary. Products not on the members list at the time of service request will not qualify for CPS turnaround targets or rates. Welcome kit: The Canon welcome kit contains a welcome letter, the CPS member card and, of course, complimentary gifts included as a token of our appreciation. Welcome kits will be shipped to accepted members upon payment of the applicable enrollment fees. Fees will be billed to the members account upon acceptance and will be payable within 30days.
Service turnaround: Warranty repairs: Canon will repair and ship from our factory service the eligible product (see list above) that is repairable, in Canon's reasonable discretion, within 4 business days (Platinum plan), or 6 business days (Gold Plan) of receipt of the equipment at our service facility in Mississauga. Out of warranty repairs: The turnaround period will commence once approval of applicable charges has been received by Canon CPS staff. Please see the section covering "flat rate repair charges" below.
Service loaner: Service loaners are available upon request to Platinum members, even prior to shipping in eligible product for service. Service loaners will only be offered to Gold members if the stated turnaround target cannot be met.
Service discount: Platinum members receive a 30% discount on service repairs (parts and labour). Gold members receive a 20% discount (parts and labour).
Service shipping charges: Platinum members enjoy complimentary overnight incoming and outgoing shipping on all eligible products for service. Use of our CPS shipping waybill is required for identification purposes and equipment arriving by any other method will be at the member's expense. Equipment arriving without the CPS waybill may not be eligible for rapid service turnaround. Gold members receive subsidized incoming overnight shipping charges ($10) when eligible product shipments are identified using our CPS shipping waybill. These charges will be added to the repair service charge. Return shipping is free for warranty repairs and a flat $10 fee will be charged for return shipping of out of warranty service.
Important! Any modifications made to the Canon CPS pre-printed waybill or account are not covered by Canon. Additional charges as a result of changes to; Ship Mode, Package Type, Service or Declared Value are the sole responsibility of the CPS Member and will be billed back to the CPS member account if any said charges are applied.
Insurance to cover loss and/or damage to equipment during incoming shipment to Canon Canada is the sole responsibility of all members.
Rental equipment pool: Rental equipment is available to all members in good standing. Platinum members enjoy access to an expanded pool that includes virtually all lenses available. Gold members can access a basic pool of frequently needed items. Video rentals are not available at this time however members will be notified when they become available. Lists of available rental items are available on the member webpage. Shipping is complimentary for Platinum members and Gold members are responsible for return shipping only. Credit card pre-approval of rental charges and/or damage deposit may be requested by Canon at any time.
Test drives: Test drives or tryouts are available to Platinum members only on a first come-first served basis. Video test drives are not available at this time however members will be notified when they become available. Members are limited to two tryouts per product. Test drives are available for 3 day periods. Shipping is complimentary. Credit card pre-approval for damage deposit may be requested by Canon at any time.
Restricted service list: The restricted list covers current professional product that is covered by the CPS service plan. Parts availability is assured for these products in order to reduce service turnaround delays. Products not on this list will not be covered by the CPS service turnaround guidelines nor will they be eligible for flat rate service.
Flat rate repair pricing: Flat rate repair pricing has been established for all eligible products to reduce the amount of contact necessary between Canon and its members during the service episode. This ensures the immediate entry into service, of all eligible products, upon arrival at our factory service in Mississauga. Flat rates posted on the member webpage cover labour and parts necessary to complete repair. Flat rate charges related to the repair of eligible products received for service will be automatically billed to the member account and members will only be contacted for a detailed estimate approval if their product requires extensive service, such as, but not limited to, moisture or extensive impact damage. Manual estimates can be available upon request but will not be eligible for service turnaround targets. Manual estimates may be subject to estimate charges and return shipping charges if refused by the member.
