CANON CANADA RECEIVES SIX WINTER “PICK” AWARDS FROM BUYERS LABORATORY LLC.

MISSISSAUGA, ON, February 15, 2012 – Canon Canada Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced the Company has received six Winter “Pick” awards for its imageFORMULA, imageCLASS and imageRUNNER ADVANCE solutions, from Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI). Ranging from personal document scanners to high-capacity workgroup solutions, the six awards recognize each model’s outstanding performance during BLI’s rigorous lab testing within their respective image capture and energy-efficiency categories.

Canon imageFORMULA DR-M160: “Outstanding 50- to 70-ppm A4 Departmental Scanner”

The Canon DR-M160 scanner has excellent performance and convenience.  Scanning up to 60 pages-per-minute (ppm)1 /120 images per minute (ipm)1, and holding up to 60 sheets in the automatic document feeder (ADF), it quickly and effectively captures and stores business information, scanning both sides of a document in a single pass. And with an intuitive control panel to pre-program scan tasks, the DR-M160 scanner adopts and simplifies higher-end scanning features into a compact and easy-to-implement package.   

Canon imageFORMULA DR-C125: “Outstanding 20- to 30-ppm Workgroup Scanner”

The space-saving Canon DR-C125 scanner makes converting and capturing paper-based documents to digital format an ideal option for businesses.  Delivering colour, black-and-white and grey-scale scan speeds at up to 25 ppm1 and 50 ipm, the DR-C125 scanner reliably handles a wide variety of document types, including Long Document Mode for documents up to 300-centimetres (118 inches) in length, for example media records such as account logs.  The scanner also features user-selectable paper paths for scanning items such as thick documents, plastic ID cards, embossed cards, and driver licenses.   

Canon imageFORMULA P-215: “Outstanding Mobile Scanner”

With the Canon P-215 scanner’s capabilities, it helps to create a flexible corporate culture for customers, allowing employees to work virtually any time or anywhere.  The P-215 measures only 28-centimetres (11 inches) long, weighs just over 0.9 kilograms (two pounds) and incorporates an ADF in a sleek design.  To complement the ADF, this scanner also includes an integrated card scanner, capable of handling plastic ID cards, driver’s licenses and embossed cards. Using electrical power via a single USB cable, the P-215 scanner can scan a batch of up to 20 documents at its maximum scanning speed of 15 pages-per-minute (ppm)1 in colour or black and white and yet still easily fits into a briefcase for portable and mobile use.   

Canon Color imageCLASS MF8380Cdw “Outstanding A4 Colour MFP for Small/Home Offices”

The Canon MF8380Cdw Color Laser Multifunction Printer offers winning solutions for home and small office users seeking a four-in-one (print/scan/copy/fax) laser MFP that provides a convenient and cost-effective alternative to print and copy outsourcing.  Developed to help increase productivity, the MF8380Cdw incorporates Wi-Fi capabilities that allow end users to print from virtually anywhere in their home or small office2.  This model builds on the success of its predecessors, incorporating high-end colour imaging technologies adopted from the imageRUNNER MFP line at a low-entry cost while delivering speeds of up to 21 colour/21 monochrome ppm, simplex /10 colour/10 monochrome, duplex7. 

Canon imageCLASS D550 copier “Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency”

Canon’s imageCLASS D550 Laser Multifunction Copier possesses speeds of up to 26 ppm I at a fast first print time of six seconds3. Duplex versatility with two-sided copying, printing and scanning saves space and paper consumption, which leads to lower cost-of-ownership. Combining the high-optical, colour scanning resolution of 600 x 600 dpi, colour depth of 24-bit and various output file formats including Hi-Compression PDF, Searchable PDF, PDF, JPEG, TIFF and BMP, the imageCLASS D550 Copier allows the user the benefit of speedy and efficient output to better meet their document management needs.  

imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2020 “Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency”

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2020 multifunction printer delivers print speeds of up to 20 ppm4 and simplex scanning speeds of up to 44 ipm (simplex, 300 dpi) for letter-sized documents in both black-and-white and colour. From the inside out, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2020 is a compact solution, designed for high energy efficiency and quality output.  Canon has incorporated green technologies that further conserve energy and resources, reduce CO2 emissions and heat and help prevent pollution.
