Silver Award – Canon Océ VarioPrint i300
The Canon Océ VarioPrint i300 sheet-fed inkjet colour production press finally bridges the gap between the application flexibility and efficiency of toner based sheet-fed digital presses and the economy and productivity of web-fed inkjet systems, without compromising quality. Leveraging print head technology from the proven Océ ColorStream® inkjet web presses, the Océ VarioPrint i300 provides 600 x 600 dpi with drop size modulation to deliver 1,200 dpi perceived image quality at up to 294 letter images per minute or more than 8,500 sheets per hour.
With its reduced running cost compared to toner-based digital presses, Océ VarioPrint i300’s offers a cost effective way to run monochrome and colour jobs on one engine and help move mono applications to higher-value/higher-margin colour products as well as allow print providers to extend the cross over point for digital print versus offset, helping more pages migrate to digital print. Combining this flexible architecture and inkjet innovation with proven technologies, the Océ VarioPrint i300 redefines the cost, productivity and throughput equation.
